Social-emotional learning is how children acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy for others, and make responsible decisions as they matriculate.

While students’ emotional well-being and social skills have always been on educators’ radar, in recent years, we have witnessed a shift towards a stronger focus on Social and Emotional teaching in the classroom. Researchers have come to understand the connections between academic performance and SET and the importance of attending to the many facets of student learning experiences in an effort to educate the whole child.
