SOCIAL
Social-emotional learning is the process through which children acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage their emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy for other, and make responsible decisions as they matriculate.
While students’ emotional well-being and social skills has always been on educators’ radar, in recent years we have witnessed a shift towards a stronger focus on Social and Emotional teaching in the classroom. Researchers have come to understand the connections between academic performance and SET, as well as the importance of attending to the many facets of student learning experiences in an effort to educate the whole child.
At Academy 4 Owls, we strive to take a wholistic approach to educating your child. We recognize that each child is unique and their learning capabilities are based on a myriad of factors. Preparing a child for lifelong success is our goal, and we know that providing the skills to socially interact and emotionally deal with the challenges of learning is a critical element.
